We're working with a global reinsurer who is seeking a Specialty Lines Underwriter to support the growth of its Financial Lines and Casualty reinsurance portfolio across Asia.
This role will have a primary focus on Facultative Reinsurance, working closely with regional cedants and brokers, while also providing select exposure to Treaty placements as part of a broader specialty platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite Facultative Reinsurance risks across Financial Lines (D&O, PI, FI, Cyber, etc.) and Casualty.
- Evaluate individual facultative submissions, including risk assessment, pricing, terms & conditions, and capacity deployment.
- Support treaty underwriting activities, including portfolio analysis, renewals, and market engagement where required.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with regional brokers and cedants across Asia-Pacific.
- Monitor portfolio performance, market trends, and emerging risks within specialty lines.
- Represent the firm in client meetings, market events, and industry forums.
Key Requirements
- Proven underwriting experience within Financial Lines and/or Casualty, gained from a reinsurer or primary insurer.
- Solid understanding of specialty risks across Asian markets.
- Commercial mindset with strong broker and client relationship skills.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
