Job Responsibilities
QC Inspection & Testing and Product Performance Analysis
- Oversee and provide guidance to QC Inspection Team to ensure implementation of all inspection-related activities according to standards, including proper disposition and handling of non-conforming material/product.
- Pre-inspection of designated goods (at warehouse).
- Sampling and QC inspection of incoming materials (pre-shipment samples, raw materials, bulk, semi-finished and finished products, packaging materials) and out-going products.
- In-process inspection to ensure that quality, hygiene, and safety standards are met. - Approve batch release of materials and finished products.
- Identify and investigate OOS (out-of-specification) or NC (non-conformance) cases, analyse the root causes, and monitor closely the resolution and correction status.
- Liaise with third-party laboratory partners for any external laboratory tests that are necessary (e.g., product testing, stability testing etc.)
- Perform and analyse QC inspection & testing related performance monitoring.
- Justify need, obtain quotations and execute for purchase of QC lab equipment.
Product Quality Control Management
- Perform testing and evaluation on samples of new raw materials, products, packaging etc., and record the evaluation on a report.
- Determine and establish product and material specification with proper documentation of the specification on Master Specification document and other documentations.
- Manage the product feedback from various regions and handling of internal product non-conformity feedback from internal departments, to provide appropriate response to relevant parties.
- Initiate investigation of product feedbacks, analyse quality-related problems, and recommend problem resolution.
- Perform product-related performance data measurement and analysis, and generate reports and presentation for Management.
- Identify and propose for product recall to Quality Manager whenever necessary.
- Assist in managing and coordinating all product recall activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and quality standards.
QC Documentation Management
- Work with relevant parties to establish specifications and quality attributes of raw material, packaging and product, confirm appropriate test method for each QC parameter, and document evidence.
- Contribute for establishing and improving relevant QC SOP and inspection/testing-related work instructions (in compliance with GMP and ISO requirements).
- Ensure proper QC documentation including Master Specifications, QC Records (including electronic logs), QC Test Reports, Lab Test Reports, Non-Conformance Reports, COA etc.
- Establish and maintain product stability testing guideline.
- Verify necessary information/ document relevant and necessary for Halal application.
- Support and assist Quality Assurance on External Provider Quality Management.
Requirements
- Degree in Science or Engineering (preferably in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Nutrition or relevant field)
- Preferably 1-2 years of working experience in the quality control of cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, dietary supplement, food, or skincare/medical device. Fresh Graduates are welcome to apply too.
- Knowledge on ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001), GMP, HACCP or industry specific regulations is preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant product quality control standards, and familiarity with testing instruments (e.g., pH Meter, Viscometer etc.), laboratory techniques and test methods.
- Experience and/or knowledge on root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Why, CAPA etc.)
- Stringent compliance to procedures, guidelines, standards, and regulations.
- Self-starter, good at working well independently with initiatives and able to work as a team
- Meticulous & detail oriented.
- Analytical thinking & problem-solving skills.
- Time management skills (scheduling, prioritising) to meet deadlines.
