The FairPrice Group Supply Chain Business Unit (FPG SC BU) or Grocery Logistics of Singapore Pte Ltd (GLS) is a key logistics service provider to NTUC FairPrice Group and external customers. Our services provided include inbound logistics, warehouse and fulfilment and last mile delivery to the stores, customers and B2C home delivery.
Job Purpose
The Specialist, Inventory & Flow Management drives the strategic balance between product availability and cost efficiency across FPG's fulfillment centres. By leveraging advanced replenishment systems and data analytics, this role forecasts demand and manages procurement (orders and transfers) to champion our Customers First commitment—ensuring the right products are in the right place at the right time, without compromising inventory health.
He/she will also lead the alignment and communication with upstream partners (Finance/Products/Suppliers etc.) to lead and manage an S&OP cycle to ensure relevant information are available and accounted for in the planning and procurement for fulfillment centres.
Responsibilities
Process Ownership and Strategic Involvement
- Lead the S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) Process: Champion the monthly S&OP cycle, aligning Commercial, Finance, and Logistics teams to ensure a single, unified demand and supply plan.
- Continuous Improvement & System Scaling: Lead the implementation, optimization, or migration of advanced FNR (Forecasting & Replenishment) tools into scope of responsibility, and drive automation to reduce manual Excel dependency across the team.
- Wastage & Markdown Strategy: Partner with the commercial team to design proactive promotion or markdown strategies for slow-moving, overstocked, or near-expiry goods to protect the bottom line.
Demand Planning & Procurement
- Develop and execute short-term demand forecasts by analysing key market inputs, including active promotions, competitive dynamics, seasonality, and emerging trends.
- Manage inventory replenishment by placing timely purchase orders (PO) and stock transfer (STO) requests, ensuring fulfillment centres are consistently stocked to maintain high customer availability.
- Drive continuous improvement in forecast accuracy and procurement discipline by leveraging data analytics and advanced Excel modelling.
Inventory Management & Optimization
- Monitor site-specific inventory health to proactively identify and mitigate financial and operational risks associated with overstocks, aged or expired inventory, and product freshness.
- Optimize the balance between core metrics, specifically Days of Supply (DOS) and In-Stock Rates (ISR), to maximize product availability while minimizing holding costs.
Supplier & Vendor Management
- Oversee end-to-end order fulfillment tracking across internal warehouses, local suppliers, and marketplace sellers to ensure supply chain reliability.
- Integrate operational variables—such as supplier lead times, delivery schedules, and holiday closures—directly into the planning and procurement workflow to prevent supply disruptions.
Job Requirements
Experience & Business Acumen
- Years of Experience: 3 - 8 years of experience in Supply Chain, Demand/Supply Planning, or Retail Operations
- Sector Expertise: Proven track record in a fast-paced, high-velocity environment (Grocery, FMCG, or E-commerce) handling perishable or short-shelf-life inventory.
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets for daily data manipulation, forecasting, and operational modelling.
- System Super-User: Experience not just using, but configuring or leading implementations of ERP/FNR software (SAP, RELEX, Blue Yonder, Oracle).
- Data Synthesis: Ability to translate complex data analytics into high-level, actionable executive summaries and business presentations. Familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) is highly desirable.

- Excellent communication skills: Proven ability to engage and manage relationships effectively with both upstream and downstream partners.
- Change Management: Proven ability to steer a team through process changes, system adoptions, or organizational restructuring.
