Job Description

We are anInternational registered school offering classes to both mainstream childrenand children with developmental or academic challenges.

We are lookingfor a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Special Education Teacher (Secondary) where you'll inspire and empowerstudents to reach their full potential.

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct classroom teaching in an inclusive settingfor students in Grade 7 to Grade 12.
  • Conduct small group/ individual teaching sessionsfor students with learning difficulties.
  • Design and implementschool-level curriculum content that aligns with the general education programwhile adapting it to suit students with varying abilities and learningchallenges.
  • Develop and implementindividualized Learning Plan (ILPs) tailored to each student's specific needs,in collaboration with other educators and specialists.
  • Adapt and modify curriculummaterials and teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles andabilities.
  • Deliver high-qualityinstruction that meets the educational and developmental needs of students withdisabilities.
  • Regularlymonitor and evaluate students progress, adjusting instructional strategies asneeded.
  • Maintain accurate andup-to-date records of students performance, including IEP documentation.
  • Work closely with support staff, and otherspecialists to ensure a coordinated approach to education.
  • Communicate effectivelywith parents and guardians regarding students progress, challenges, andachievements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in specialeducation or a related field from an accredited university.
  • A minimum of 3 years of teachingexperience in a special education setting, preferably in a school environment.
  • Experience in Cambridge Curriculum / International Middle Years (IMYC) and the EQUALS Functional Curriculum.
  • Familiarity with developing andimplementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), including linkingassessments to IEP development.
  • Strong interpersonal andcommunication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively withstudents, staff, and parents.
  • Proficiency in behavior managementtechniques and the use of appropriate intervention strategies.
