SPED Teacherat Metta School delivers special education to students with Mild Intellectual Disability and/or mild Autism Spectrum Disorder, applying tailored curricula and collaborating with allied professionals to support student development and future employability.
Responsibilities
- Plan Individual and Group Education Plans, Schemes of Work, and Weekly Lesson Plans to structure semester and weekly teaching goals
- Design lessons, meaningful activities, and assessment tasks that engage students and measure learning outcomes
- Teach academic and non-academic subjects to students aged 7 to 18 using the school curriculum in classroom or specialized settings
- Monitor and document students progress, achievements, and participation in school activities to inform instructional adjustments
- Implement intervention strategies collaboratively with Allied Health Professionals to support students speech, motor skills, social interaction, and psychological needs
- Prepare and utilize diverse teaching aids and ICT tools to accommodate varying learning abilities among students
- Equip students with prerequisite skills to enhance their future employment opportunities
- Collaborate with parents through calls, emails, notes, conferences, or home visits to support students holistic growth and development
Competencies and certifications
- Degree or diploma from a recognized local educational institution
- Completion of full A level with either:
i. 2 A/H2 Level passes and 2 AO/H1 Level passes (including valuedGeneral Paper or Knowledge Inquiry)
ii. 2 A Level passes and 2 AO Level passes (including General Paper)
- At least 5 O level credits, including a minimum B grade in English and Mathematics
- Diploma in Education or Diploma in Special Education (DISE) is an advantage
- Relevant experience teaching special needs students is highly valued.
