About The Role
GreenLight is recruiting a Singapore-based Events Lead (full-time contract) for OpenAI to oversee the strategy, management, and execution of events across India and Southeast Asia.
This role is ideal for a senior events professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and has deep experience producing sophisticated, high-impact events for innovative, global brands. More than 50% of this role will focus on programs in India.
The successful candidate will bring strong regional expertise, operational excellence, cultural fluency, and a passion for creating original, meaningful experiencesparticularly within technology-forward and thought leadership contexts.
This position is based in Singapore and requires regular travel throughout Asia and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead OpenAI's regional event strategy and execution across India and Southeast Asia, delivering immersive, high-impact experiences.
- Design and produce events that translate OpenAI's complex, cutting-edge AI technology into locally relevant, globally consistent programming.
- Partner closely with OpenAI's Marketing, Sales, Product, Policy, and Communications teams to align events with strategic priorities and core narratives.
- Own the full event lifecycle, including concept development, budgeting, vendor management, logistics, and on-site execution.
- Drive creative innovation across all OpenAI event touchpoints, ensuring experiences are bold, seamless, and differentiated.
- Build scalable systems, playbooks, and repeatable workflows to support OpenAI's long-term regional growth.
- Measure event performance and apply insights to continuously improve quality and impact.
- Manage high-stakes events involving OpenAI senior executives, enterprise partners, developers, policymakers, and media.
Ideal Candidate Profile

- Have experience establishing prioritization frameworks and making thoughtful trade-offs in fast-moving environments.
- Possess a strong network of vendors and production partners across the region.
- Demonstrate strong financial and operational acumen, including budgeting, procurement, and multi-market payment and tax considerations.
- Are experienced working with senior executives and VIP stakeholders.
- Communicate with confidence, clarity, and cross-cultural sensitivity.
- Remain grounded and decisive amid ambiguity and shifting priorities.
- Bring a proactive, collaborative, and solutions-oriented mindset.
- Are fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
