Role Overview
The Sous Chef supports the Restaurant Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth service, quality standards, and team coordination. Flexibility, strong communication, and leadership skills are essential in this dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
. Assist in managing kitchen operations and staff scheduling
. Oversee food quality, inventory, and stock control
. Conduct daily briefings and coordinate with front-of-house
. Train and supervise kitchen staff, minimizing wastage
. Support menu development and cost control with the Executive Chef
. Ensure hygiene and safety standards are met
Requirements
. Diploma/Vocational certificate in Culinary Arts or related field
. 3-5 years of relevant experience fine dining or upscale dining preferred
. Basic food hygiene certification required
. Strong knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen procedures
. Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
. High standards of personal hygiene proficiency in MS Word/Excel preferred
