Job Description

Our client is one of the leading players in the Contract Manufacturing sector. Due to business needs, they are now recruiting a Sourcing Engineer to be part of their Procurement team for ongoing transformation projects. They are located in the East.

Responsibilities of Sourcing Engineer:

  • Manage sourcing of mechanical sheet metal components
  • Drive cost reduction through negotiations, alternative sourcing, localization, and supplier consolidation
  • Build and manage a strong supplier network, including key strategic partners
  • Identify design and value engineering opportunities for cost savings
  • Improve lead times, payment/delivery terms, and order quantities (MOQ/SPQ)
  • Ensure suppliers meet quality, cost, delivery, and capacity requirements
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and product teams on sourcing activities
  • Monitor market trends and mitigate risks (e.g. EOL, single-source parts)
  • Support cost evaluation during NPI and engineering changes (ECN)
  • Work with engineering on design reviews and technical issue resolution
  • Support sourcing and supply readiness during build and initial production phases

Requirements:

  • Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Min 5 years of sourcing experience in Metal Fabrications or Plastics Tool & Die
