Our client is one of the leading players in the Contract Manufacturing sector. Due to business needs, they are now recruiting a Sourcing Engineer to be part of their Procurement team for ongoing transformation projects. They are located in the East.
Responsibilities of Sourcing Engineer:
- Manage sourcing of mechanical sheet metal components
- Drive cost reduction through negotiations, alternative sourcing, localization, and supplier consolidation
- Build and manage a strong supplier network, including key strategic partners
- Identify design and value engineering opportunities for cost savings
- Improve lead times, payment/delivery terms, and order quantities (MOQ/SPQ)
- Ensure suppliers meet quality, cost, delivery, and capacity requirements
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and product teams on sourcing activities
- Monitor market trends and mitigate risks (e.g. EOL, single-source parts)
- Support cost evaluation during NPI and engineering changes (ECN)
- Work with engineering on design reviews and technical issue resolution
- Support sourcing and supply readiness during build and initial production phases
Requirements:
- Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Min 5 years of sourcing experience in Metal Fabrications or Plastics Tool & Die
