Nandina REM is creating new sources of advanced materials for manufacturing supply chains. We are an early stage company specialising in the use of deep tech and material science to recover and remanufacture critical resources, creating a rapidly developing market for low-emission circular materials such as carbon fibre composites and metals.
We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Solvolysis Operator to join our pilot plant team. This role combines equipment operation and fibre processing. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth, safe, and efficient processes, with the support of the plant team.
Please note, candidates must have the legal right to work in their jurisdiction of hire. Nandina REM is unable to sponsor local work visas for this role.
Key Responsibilities
. Operate and monitor feedstock preparation equipment, including grinders, compressors, and filters.
. Handle material grading and testing equipment (TGA, tensile testers) as required.
. Perform routine maintenance on pumps, valves, hoses, mixers, and storage tanks.
. Assist with chemical receiving, unloading, and storage in compliance with SOPs.
. Support fibre grading processes, including batch tracking and documentation.
. Record operational data and maintain accurate logbooks and reports.
. Implement and enforce safety protocols for chemical handling, waste management, and equipment cleaning.
. Operate wrapping machines, hoists, and other plant support equipment for dispatch.
. Lead, train, and mentor operators and lab technicians to maintain high operational standards.
. Coordinate team activities, monitor production batches, and participate in process improvement initiatives.
Requirements
. Nitec or Higher Nitec in Chemical Process Technology, or O Level with WSQ Certification in Chemical Process Operations and Workplace Safety & Health (WSH), or equivalent.
. Practical experience with process plant equipment (e.g., mixers, pumps, valves).
. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
. Safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and adaptable to evolving pilot-scale processes.
