Role Description

The Solutions Sales Manager is responsible for driving new business acquisition and revenue growth for NV5 Mission Critical - Technology across data center, telecom, and other mission-critical environments.

This is a sales-focused, closing role, accountable for originating opportunities, building pipeline, leading commercial engagements, and closing deals. The role does not include responsibility for project delivery or ongoing account farming, which are managed by delivery teams and a separate Customer Success Manager (CSM) function.

While the role is anchored in data center and telecom markets, the Solutions Sales Manager is expected to remain open-minded and opportunistic toward adjacent sectors, provided the opportunity involves mission-critical IT, telecom, or operational infrastructure where availability, resilience, and reliability are core requirements.

The role carries defined revenue targets and reports to senior leadership responsible for growth, sales, and profitability.

Responsibilities

Sales & Revenue Ownership

  • Own and achieve assigned sales targets and revenue quotas

  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities, including:

    • New client logos

    • New divisions, campuses, or business units within existing clients

  • Build, manage, and close a healthy and qualified sales pipeline

  • Lead pricing, scope definition, commercial negotiations, and deal closure

Client Engagement & Opportunity Development

  • Act as the primary sales lead in engagements with:

    • Hyperscale data center operators

    • Developers and asset owners

    • Telecom operators

    • Other organisations operating within or supporting mission-critical environments

  • Engage senior client stakeholders in value-based and commercial discussions

  • Proactively identify and pursue opportunities beyond core verticals where clients operate mission-critical or business-critical infrastructure

  • Identify and position bundled, multi-service solutions, including:

    • Consultancy and design services

    • Owner's representative / project management services

    • ICT & Data Center design and tender support

    • Telecom OSP services

    • Remote Hands and operational support services

Solution & Proposal Leadership

  • Lead sales-driven proposals, bids, and tenders from opportunity qualification through contract award

  • Translate client requirements into commercially viable and differentiated solution scopes

  • Coordinate internal technical and delivery teams for proposal inputs

  • Present proposals and commercial recommendations to senior and executive-level clients

Sales-to-Operations Handover

  • Ensure structured handover of awarded projects to delivery teams

  • Maintain oversight during early delivery phases to protect commercial intent and client confidence

  • Coordinate with the Customer Success Manager (Farmer) to transition accounts into long-term relationship management

Technical Requirements / Experience

  • Minimum 4-5 years experience in one or more of the following:

    • Solution sales or presales within ICT, Telecom, Data Center, or mission-critical environments

    • Technical consulting roles with strong commercial exposure

    • Client-facing roles involving proposal leadership and deal closure

  • Demonstrated ability to close deals, not only generate leads

  • Solid technical understanding of:

    • Data center ICT and telecom infrastructure

    • Structured cabling, ELV, or mission-critical systems

  • Familiarity with long-cycle, multi-stakeholder sales processes

Other Requirements

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Comfortable discussing commercial terms, pricing, and contracts

  • Able to work independently and manage multiple pursuits concurrently

  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the Asia Pacific region

  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office, CRM systems, presentation tools)

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related discipline

  • Relevant professional certifications are advantageous but not mandatory

  • This role carries defined sales targets and revenue accountability

  • Performance will be measured based on:

    • Deals closed

    • Revenue achieved

    • Pipeline quality and conversion

  • Role scope may evolve as the business scales, with potential to take on broader commercial or sales leadership responsibilities

  • Other duties as and when required by management
