About the Role
This role is responsible for supporting sales teams in positioning vendor solutions and driving business growth. It encompasses delivering comprehensive presales support, including solution pitching, demos, sizing, BOM creation, POCs, and RFP/RFQ input, while advising partners on vendor offerings to enhance customer engagement. The role also involves conducting enablement workshops and training to strengthen partner capabilities, with a clear focus on contributing to the achievement of quarterly product and service profit targets.
The Solution Architect in this role will interact regularly with diverse groups of people and must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and strong interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Account Managers, Business Development Managers, and Product Specialists in positioning vendor solutions.
- Provide presales support, including solution pitching, product demonstrations, sizing, BOM creation, POCs, and technical input for RFPs/RFQs.
- Advise partners on vendor solutions and assist them in selling to their customer base.
- Conduct enablement workshops and training sessions for partners.
- Contribute to achieving quarterly product and service profit targets.
- Presales Support: Deliver technical support for Cisco networking and security solutions; assess customer needs; recommend optimized solutions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with sales, vendors, and technical teams to align solutions with business requirements.
- Training: Coach and train sales teams and partners to enhance their technical knowledge.
- Business Growth: Identify and pursue new opportunities with existing customers.
- Technical Activities: Conduct proof-of-concept initiatives; maintain certifications; stay updated on vendor technologies.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Possess at least a tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships quickly and effectively.
- Technical expertise in designing, sizing, proposing, demonstrating, and evaluating networking and security solutions.
- Good administrative skills with strong attention to detail and follow-up.
- Knowledge of vendor technologies, especially Cisco networking and security.
- General computer literacy and ability to apply effective solutions to customer needs.
- Presales experience or relevant certifications are recommended.
- Meticulous, proactive, result-oriented, and independent.
- Ambitious, adaptable, and comfortable working in fast-paced environments.
- Experience in distribution supporting reseller markets is highly recommended.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in reseller/distribution with solution sales.
- Demonstrable presales/channel experience in IT distribution.
