Our client is a leading Data Center operator working closely with hyperscalers across APAC, expanding aggressively (beyond 200MW expansion in plan for the next couple of years), currently seeking for a Solutioning Manager to lead the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems for their data centre portfolio. They are working with most of the leading hyperscalers and have around a billion USD in funding to help their rapid expansion.
The successful candidate will be the primary architect of technical and commercial solutions, transforming client requirements into viable, costed, and winning project designs. This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise in critical M&E systems, sharp commercial acumen, and leadership to guide the solutioning process from initial concept through to handover for execution.
Responsibilities:
Solution Leadership & Design Strategy
· Act as the lead technical authority during the pre-contract phase, developing innovative and practical design concepts for complex fit-out and A&A projects.
· Own the end-to-end solutioning process: analyze client RFPs/RFIs, define technical requirements, and architect comprehensive solutions that balance technical rigor, cost, and schedule.
· Lead the development of initial designs and technical approaches prior to consultant engagement, setting the foundation for all subsequent detailed design work.
· Ensure all proposed solutions adhere to data center best practices, scalability requirements, and client-specific standards.
Commercial Proposal & Financial Modeling
· Own the costing and budgeting for proposed solutions. Analyze vendor quotations, build accurate cost models, and prepare the financial components of client proposals (RFP responses).
· Develop detailed project budgets, capital funding justifications, and cash flow forecasts for proposed work.
· Prepare all commercial documentation, including sourcing recommendations, approval papers, and detailed Scope of Work (SOW) and specification drafts for tender packages.
Stakeholder & Process Management
· Serve as the key technical liaison between Sales/Account Management, clients, and the delivery (Project Management/Engineering) teams.
· Manage the vendor and consultant selection process during the solutioning phase, including negotiations and preliminary contract reviews.
· Lead technical clarifications and presentations for clients, ensuring solution buy-in from all stakeholders.
· Establish and refine the solutioning methodology, tools, and standards to improve quality and efficiency.
Requirments:
· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines.
· Professional Engineer (PE) certification is highly advantageous.
· 8+ years in a technical design, consulting, or solutioning role, with significant experience in data center or mission-critical facility infrastructure.
· Proven expertise in:
· Leading the technical solutioning/pre-sales phase for complex fit-out or construction projects.
· Critical M&E systems (ACMV, electrical distribution, UPS, generators, BMS, fire protection) and their commissioning (FAT, SAT, IST).
· Interpreting multi-disciplinary construction drawings and specifications.
· Detailed cost estimation, budgeting, and financial modeling for technical projects.
· Client-Facing Leadership: Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
· Ability to work across sales, engineering, and delivery teams to build consensus and drive decisions.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, familiarity with AutoCAD and/or design simulation tools is a plus.
