Solution Architect (InterSystems)

Job Description

. We are seeking a highly experienced HealthShare Architect to lead the strategic vision, design, and governance of our Health Information Exchange (HIE) and interoperability platform built on InterSystems HealthShare and IRIS for Health.

. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring a scalable, secure, and compliant architecture aligned with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and FHIR mandates, while supporting enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

. Strategic & Architectural Design Define the technical roadmap and future-state architecture for HealthShare, including cloud, on-premise, and hybrid deployments

. Lead design and implementation of large-scale clinical data integrations using InterSystems IRIS / HealthConnect

. Act as the technical authority for HealthShare components: UCR (Unified Care Record), Clinical Viewer, EMPI, Care Management Enable population health analytics and AI/ML initiatives through SDA data harmonization

. Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of integration workflows

. Technical Governance & Standards Establish and enforce development, security, and integration standards

. Guide teams on best practices in: ObjectScript, DTL, XSLT, BPL

. Define strategy for modern interoperability standards (HL7 FHIR, HL7 V2, CDA/CCDA, IHE)

. Oversee security architecture including: authentication, authorization, consent management, data masking/filtering.

Required Skills

. Core Technical Expertise: InterSystems HealthShare & IRIS for Health / HealthConnect (Expert Level)

. Caché ObjectScript development and integration architecture

. Healthcare interoperability standards: HL7 V2, FHIR, CDA/CCDA, IHE profiles

. High-volume integration design & performance tuning

. Data modeling, database optimization (Globals, indexing)

. Architecture & Platform Skills: HIE architecture & enterprise integration patterns

. Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) Security & compliance (HIPAA, data privacy, consent management)

. Scalable, high-availability system design

Preferred Qualifications & Experience Required

. InterSystems Certified Architect or equivalent certifications

. Experience integrating with Epic, Cerner, or other clinical systems

. Knowledge of analytics platforms (DeepSee, Health Insight)

. Exposure to DevOps tools (Git, GitHub/GitLab, CI/CD pipelines)

. 10+ years in Healthcare IT, including 5+ years in InterSystems HealthShare architecture
