Software UAT Tester (1-year Contract)

We're seeking a detail-oriented Software Tester to join our team! This role is perfect for graduates and junior professionals (1-2 years of experience) passionate about quality assurance. You'll work on test planning, execution, and issue validation for small to moderately complex features, collaborating closely with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders.

Job Summary:

As a Software Tester in our Tech Application Delivery - Quality Assurance team, you'll report to the Test Manager or Test Team Lead and work with business and technical units to define test objectives and ensure high-quality software delivery. Key responsibilities include:

- Collaborating with Project Managers, business users, and tech teams during requirement gathering for system enhancements, UAT, and regression testing.

- Designing, developing, and executing test specifications, scripts, and results within project timelines.

- Managing UAT test execution, aiming for 100% completion and pass rate within the given timeframe.

- Identifying and reporting software issues, providing feedback to developers, and following up on defect resolution.

- Updating project documentation and relevant records.

- Proactively identifying and escalating risks or impediments to senior leaders.

- Providing regular UAT status updates to Project Managers.

Qualifications:

For Fresh Graduates:

- At least Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or graduating soon)

- Basic understanding of software development and QA concepts

- Familiarity with test cases, bug tracking tools, or scripting is a plus

- Strong willingness to learn and take feedback

For 1-2 Years Experience:

- 1-2 years of hands-on software testing experience

- Familiar with test case design and execution

- Experience with bug tracking or test management tools

- Able to perform manual testing independently and identify key issues

- Exposure to basic test automation or scripting is a plus

Nice to Have (All Levels):

- Experience with API testing tools

- Basic knowledge of test automation or scripting (Nodejs)

- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development process

- Personal or open-source QA projects

- Understanding of software architecture and backend/frontend separation

- ISTQB or equivalent certification

- Prior experience in Public Sector domain or understanding of IT governance, risk, and compliance requirements
