Project Overview

We are seeking a Contract Software Test Engineer to support a short-term project focused on enhancing an existing printer system with a new touch-screen interface. The role involves hands-on software and firmware testing to ensure system stability, functionality, and user experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on project requirements

• Perform software and firmware test execution to validate functionality and performance

• Conduct GUI testing on embedded systems, including touch-screen interfaces

• Log, track, and update defects and issues using JIRA

• Prepare and deliver test reports and test results to project stakeholders

• Work closely with engineering and project teams to support timely project delivery

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in printer firmware and software testing

• Strong background in embedded system GUI testing

• Experience with test planning, execution, and defect management

• Familiarity with JIRA or similar issue-tracking tools

• Basic understanding of network configuration (e.g., IP setup, connectivity testing)

Preferred / Optional Skills

• Exposure to Linux-based environments

• Hands-on experience with Raspberry Pi

• Experience working on short-term or project-based engineering assignments
