Job Summary
Design, develop, and maintain scalable software modules for SLS, collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate educational requirements into seamless digital experiences while supporting cloud deployments and continuous integration.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable software modules for the SLS platform to meet product requirements
- Write clean, testable, and efficient code following engineering standards and best practices
- Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Education Officers to translate pedagogical and curriculum needs into digital solutions
- Contribute to system architecture discussions and make technical decisions to ensure platform performance and maintainability
- Conduct and participate in code reviews to maintain system coherence and mentor junior engineers
- Support CI/CD pipelines and manage cloud-native deployments to ensure high availability and security of services
- Actively participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, estimations, and retrospectives to drive continuous improvement
- Troubleshoot complex system issues and optimize software performance using strong analytical skills
- Communicate effectively within a collaborative, cross-functional environment to achieve project goals
- Continuously learn new technologies and promote a culture of technical excellence and inclusion
Required competencies and certifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 3-5 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in a full-stack role
- Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, Node.js, or Go
- Experience with frontend frameworks like React or Vue
- Knowledge of cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and microservices
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD tools
