The Opportunity
We are hiring for a global technology company at the forefront of high-speed optical connectivity and next-generation AI/data-centre networking.
As the organisation expands its engineering and product development capabilities in Singapore, we are looking for a Software Engineer to work on SONiC-based networking platforms, spanning advanced Ethernet and Optical Circuit Switching (OCS) technologies.
This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of network operating systems, SDN, high-speed Ethernet and optical networking, supporting technologies designed for the next generation of AI and data-centre infrastructure.
What You'll Work On
- Design and integrate gNMI/gNOI-based northbound interfaces in SONiC using OpenConfig YANG models.
- Extend and customize SONiC NOS for advanced Ethernet and Optical Circuit Switching (OCS) platforms.
- Develop and maintain SONiC Redis database schemas and synchronization logic across management and control components.
- Build, containerize and optimize SONiC services using Docker.
- Develop automated tests, validation scripts and simulation frameworks for SONiC platform bring-up and API verification.
- Debug complex networking software across Linux, container and system layers.
- Collaborate closely with hardware, ASIC, software and SDN controller teams to deliver fully integrated networking solutions.
What our client is looking for
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++, with Python experience for automation and testing.
- Strong understanding of SONiC NOS architecture, including its management framework and Redis-based database design.
- Experience implementing gNMI/gNOI services and working with OpenConfig YANG models.
- Good understanding of Linux networking, user-space networking services and container-based system design.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and debugging containerized environments.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging and cross-layer system analysis skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and international engineering teams.

- Ethernet switch or white-box networking development.
- Network Operating System (NOS) development.
- SDN controller integration.
- SAI / switch ASIC integration.
- Optical networking or Optical Circuit Switching (OCS).
