Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Additional job description

Our team's mission is protecting billions of Android users from abusive apps, including malware, content abuse, impersonation, and behavioral abuse. We develop products and services to ensure a safe and high quality experience for users of Android apps across the Android ecosystem. We also protect Google's brand and business. Our work spans our production infrastructure and novel research (publishing in security conferences). Our efforts sit in the areas such as supervised/unsupervised ML and generative AI for detecting content, privacy, and security violations, static program analysis of multiple languages used by Android apps, dynamic program analysis on secure environments in both real devices and Virtual Machines (VMs), enhancing and automating reverse-engineering and threat mitigation, and agentic AI threat models and defense.

Qualifications

Job responsibilities

• Develop and scale virtualized and physical device-based analysis platforms for large-scale app execution and monitoring.
• Write system-level code to perform deep inspection and instrumentation of apps while defeating evasion techniques.
• Lead design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to architect defense strategies for agentic AI threat models.
• Triage and resolve complex system issues by analyzing impacts on hardware, network, and service quality.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., C++, Java, Python), or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• Experience with system-level software design.
• Experience in design and implementation of distributed systems or infrastructure.
  

Preferred qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience in Android system/app development and app dynamic analysis.
• Experience in network infrastructure, including implementing monitoring features that support different protocols.
• Experience working in the area of security, privacy, and cloud/virtual machine technologies.
• Familiarity with AI/ML understanding or agent-powered systems and their associated safety threats.
