We are looking for Software Engineers to join digital transformation initiatives supporting Singapore's public sector.
Depending on the team and project, you may specialise in backend, frontend or full-stack development. We welcome engineers with strong experience in one or more areas — you are not expected to have experience across every technology listed below.
You will work on meaningful digital products and platforms, contributing across the software engineering lifecycle from design and development through testing, deployment and production support.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design, develop, test and maintain reliable, scalable software applications and digital services.
- Build backend applications, APIs and services using technologies such as Java, Kotlin, Python, Node.js / TypeScript, Go or C#/.NET.
- Develop modern frontend applications using React / Next.js, Vue, Angular or similar frameworks.
- Design and integrate RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
- Work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, as well as NoSQL databases where appropriate.
- Develop system integrations, data-processing pipelines and event-driven services where required.
- Write maintainable, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
- Work with Docker, containerised applications and cloud environments.
- Troubleshoot application and production issues, investigate root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
- Work closely with product, design and engineering teams to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Contribute to both new application development and the modernisation of existing systems.
- Apply good engineering practices around automated testing, security, observability, documentation and maintainability.
- Contribute reusable components, patterns and engineering capabilities that can benefit other teams.
What We're Looking For
- Relevant professional experience in Software Engineering.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience building and maintaining production applications.
- Hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:

- Experience with APIs, databases and modern software development practices relevant to your area of specialisation.
- Understanding of automated testing, maintainable software design, Git-based development and code reviews.
- Familiarity with Docker, containerisation and cloud deployment.
- Ability to investigate technical problems, identify root causes and develop practical solutions.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and translating high-level requirements into implementable technical solutions.
- Ability to consider trade-offs across delivery timelines, security, maintainability, performance and operational complexity.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
- Strong hands-on Java / Kotlin development.
- Python, including FastAPI, Django or Pandas.
- TypeScript, React and Next.js.
- AWS services such as EC2, ECS and EKS.
- Kubernetes.
- Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, OpenTofu or CloudFormation.
- GitLab CI/CD or similar CI/CD tooling.
- Microservices and distributed systems.
- Data engineering, ETL and data-processing pipelines.
- Event-driven architectures.
- Databricks.
- Platform or legacy-system modernisation.
- Building reusable engineering platforms, frameworks or shared capabilities.
- Security, privacy and compliance engineering.
- Experience working with sensitive or high-impact systems.
- GCC, Singpass / Corppass or SGTS.
- Singapore Government, public-sector or other highly regulated environments.
Public-sector experience is advantageous but not mandatory. Candidates from complex enterprise or regulated environments with relevant engineering experience are also encouraged to apply.
