Software Developer (Servicenow)

Role summary

ServiceNow Developer designs, develops, configures, and supports solutions on the ServiceNow platform to automate workflows and improve service delivery. The role works closely with business, functional, and technical teams to translate requirements into scalable, maintainable platform solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and customize ServiceNow applications, modules, workflows, forms, business rules, UI policies, ACLs, and scripts to meet business needs.

• Build and maintain integrations with external systems using REST/SOAP, JDBC, or other standard interfaces.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, estimate effort, prepare technical designs, and deliver end-to-end solutions.

• Perform testing, debugging, root-cause analysis, and production support to resolve platform issues and improve stability.

• Support upgrades, new releases, migrations, and ongoing maintenance of existing customizations and workflows.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles provide guidance or mentoring to junior team members where needed.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience, ideally in ITSM and related modules.

• Strong JavaScript skills and working knowledge of ServiceNow scripting, workflow automation, and platform configuration.

• Experience with integrations, testing, and supporting production environments.

• Good understanding of ITIL processes and the ability to work in Agile or cross-functional environments.
