SDR Engineer — GNSS Receiver Development
Job Description
We're hiring one experienced engineer for an urgent, active project: building our in-house SDR-based GNSS/GPS receiver stack for automotive SoC platforms. This is a GNSS-focused role.
Job Scope
- Develop GNSS/GPS receiver software: digital down-conversion, signal acquisition, code/carrier tracking, navigation message decoding, and PVT.
- Integrate GNSS RF front-end ICs/modules and related software stacks.
- Evaluate GNSS/IMU modules and support raw-measurement vs. integrated PVT architecture decisions, including GNSS/INS fusion.
- Write embedded drivers, middleware, and HAL layers for GNSS front-ends on Linux/QNX/Android automotive SoCs.
- Optimize GNSS DSP pipelines — including porting kernels to Qualcomm Hexagon DSP cores.
- Test in the lab and field for positioning accuracy, time-to-first-fix, and tracking sensitivity.
What You'll Gain
- Deep, hands-on ownership of an active in-house GNSS SDR receiver program — RF front-end through automotive certification.
- Cross-domain growth into broader SDR, DSP, and RF systems work.
- Path to shape technical direction as the project scales.
Required Background
- Prior relevant industry experience in GNSS/GPS signal processing, DSP, or embedded systems.
- BS/MS in EE, Telecom, CS, or related field.
- Proficient in C/C++.
- Strong in GNSS/GPS signal processing (acquisition, tracking, PVT, RTK/PPP) or a closely related DSP/embedded background.
Bonus Qualifications
Top picks: candidates with working experience at a GNSS chipset/IC maker, or with Qualcomm Hexagon DSP experience — neither is required, but both are strong differentiators.
- GNSS chipset/IC maker experience (e.g. receiver ASIC/SoC design, firmware, or applications engineering)
- Multi-constellation receiver design, RTK/PPP positioning, GNSS/INS sensor fusion
- GNSS RF front-end ICs/modules and digital IF interfacing
- Qualcomm Hexagon DSP: Hexagon SDK, QuRT/QDSP6, HVX intrinsics, FastRPC, profiling on Snapdragon Automotive/SA8xxx
- Linux/QNX/Android driver or HAL experience
- SDR tools (GNU Radio, USRP/HackRF)
- Automotive experience (IVI, infotainment, ADAS, or navigation systems)
