RESPONSIBILITIES
MAIN PURPOSE / OBJECTIVES:
As a Social Worker, your main role is to provide areas of support for individuals who are released from drug rehabilitation centres and prisons to navigate emotional, financial, and practical challenges during their re-integration process.
You are also expected to support operationalisation of addiction recovery programmes and involved in administration necessary to ensure its efficacy in meeting the needs of individuals attending the programmes.
You are also expected to assist in developing community resources to enhance support for recovering individuals, strengthen their re-integration and resilience.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Case Management & Re-integration Support
This area focuses on direct, client-facing practice, guiding individuals through the transition from incarceration or rehabilitation back into society.
- Direct Client Support:
Provide dedicated emotional, financial, and practical support to individuals newly released from drug rehabilitation centres and prisons. This includes developing life skills, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution for individuals and families when necessary.
- Care Plan Development:
Assess individual needs to create, implement, and monitor personalized care plans tailored to facilitate a smooth re-integration process. This includes tracking progress with housing, employment, and emotional well-being when necessary.
- Resource Navigation:
Actively link individuals to relevant government agencies and community resources to address their immediate and long-term needs, helping them rebuild their lives. Connect individuals with assistance schemes (e.g., MSF ComCare) for financial, housing, or medical aid when necessary.
- Program Support & Administration
This area ensures that the structured therapeutic and recovery programs run smoothly, safely, and effectively behind the scenes.
- Program Operationalization:
Assist in running and delivering structured addiction recovery programs to ensure they meet the specific needs of the participants. This includes assist in organizing and facilitating group therapy sessions, psycho-educational workshops, and peer support groups centred around relapse prevention and life skills.
- Administrative Efficacy: Handle necessary administrative tasks efficiently to support program operations, ensure data tracking, and maintain overall program efficacy. This includes maintaining case notes, writing social reports, and tracking data for funders.
- Community Development & Partnership This area focuses on macro-level social work-building a robust, external ecosystem of support to prevent relapse and encourage sustainable, long-term recovery.
- Resource Development: Assist in identifying and developing new community resources to enhance the overall support network for recovering individuals. This includes research, identify, and map out existing community assets, grassroots initiatives, and religious or secular support networks that can aid recovering individuals.
- Resilience Building: Work on initiatives aimed at strengthening the re-integration framework and building long-term resilience among clients within the community.
- Capacity Building & Volunteer Management: Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers, peer mentors, or interns who assist in mentoring individuals or supporting community integration events.
Others
- To assist the Centre in fund-raising initiatives especially to plan and organise events involving external stake-holders, corporate partners, volunteers and community to generate fund and support for the aftercare programmes and services.
- To participate in staff meetings as per schedule.
- To undertake any other duties as and when required and in consistent with the position.
QUALIFICATIONS- Diploma in any discipline
- Previous experience in prison support related work is
- Ability to work on weekends especially Sundays is a must.
- Flexibility in working hours to respond to demands of programmes and service an advantage.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as member of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly in Excel

OTHER INFORMATIONWorking Hours
A 4-day work week with a total work hours of 28 hours per week.
Under normal circumstances, the hours of duty will be as follows:
- Monday : 10am to 9pm (9 hours)
- Tuesday : 9am to 3pm (5 hours)
- Wednesday : Off
- Thursday : 9am to 3pm (5 hours
- Friday : 10am to 9pm (9 hours)
You are required to observe a 28-hour work week but with flexibility in managing the daily schedule as required by the operational needs of the program, and in responding to the needs of beneficiaries.
