Key Responsibilities
Client Supervision
- Handle day-to-day general enquiries on shelter admission and related shelter matters.
- Manage referrals and support assessment of applications for admission into Transit Shelter (TS).
- Engage clients in a professional and therapeutic manner to understand needs, and to build rapport with clients including all members of the family (especially children and vulnerable family members).
- Assist with site visits and support in the assessment of clients.
Social Work
- Identify and assess clients who may benefit from group work.
- Identify and support the development of new group work, evaluate, and modify.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of group work periodically, including the group work and the impact on clients.
- Lead or assist in the implementation of respective types of group work (lead psycho-education groups that aim to provide information and / or assist in therapeutic groups).
- Assist in assessing, developing, and implementing discharge planning for clients.
- Assist in liaising with community agencies and support the planning and implementation of programmes and activities.
Administrative
- Support in documentation and evaluation of case outcomes.
- Maintain daily records, update case files of clients, and prepare reports for administrative and intervention purposes.
- Provide administrative support to ensure proper maintenance of records.
Others
- Any other related duties in New Hope CS as assigned by the Reporting Officer.
Accountability
- Reports to Social Worker / Senior Social Worker

- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective communication with residents, team, community partners, and stakeholders.
- Leadership: Excellent team player with strong leadership and responsibility skills.
- Adaptability: Strong team player who is resourceful, adaptable, and able to perform multitasks under a given timeline.
- Collaboration: Willing to work with the homeless and destitute. Able to handle shelter residents politely yet firmly.
- Understands the principles of engaging and working with vulnerable families and individuals. - Good report writing skills.
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently.
Technical Competencies
- Proficiency in IT Systems and Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Education and Experience
- Diploma in Social Work from an accredited institution
- Min. 2 years of relevant working experience
