Snr Principal Data Engineer

The key responsibilities include the design, execution and maintenance of critical data pipelines supporting a myriad of data-related use cases, as well as project management leadership to deliver AI/ML solutions. This position is with the Data Analytics (MRO) team under the Group Engineering Centre (GEC). The candidate is expected to collaborate closely with other team members within DA(MRO), which is a multi-disciplinary team consisting of data scientists, data engineers and software engineers.

Requirements

. Experience with technical project management, adopting a customer-centric solutioning approach to understand customer pain points and identify key problems to be solved

. Experience with data platform architecture design, data modelling and deploying end-to-end data/AI solutions

. Proficient in Python scripting for ETL and data engineering

. Flexibility and adaptability to employ appropriate tools to solve the problem at hand, including learning new tools

. Proficient in any data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, Prefect)

. Proficient in analysing and visualizing data using a combination of commercial BI tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) and open-source libraries (e.g. Matplotlib, Seaborn)

. Proficient in system administration of any RDBMS solutions (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres)

. Experience with system administration of Windows and Linux systems (baremetal & VM)

. Experience with deploying solutions on AWS/Azure cloud will be advantageous
