At the FM, we are creating a brand-new garden-museum experience for Singaporeans, by Singaporeans. A national landmark at the heart of our garden city, uncovering the story of how independent Singapore came to be, and bringing Singaporeans across generations together to reflect and have bold conversations about what our founding values mean today and for our future.

The FM is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Exhibitions and Project Management team to manage the fabrication and fit-out works of the permanent exhibition experience that spans FM's indoor and outdoor spaces; drive the project management of the art commissions together with its Curatorial team; and oversee the changing exhibitions at the FM after it opens. What You Will Be Working On

  • Fabrication , fit - out works and maintenance of permanent exhibition experience : You will be a key lead overseeing the fabrication and fit - out works of the permanent exhibition experience that spans FM's indoor and outdoor spaces. This includes :
  • Reviewing design and technical specifications for exhibition elements – including lighting and showcases – to ensure they fulfil conservation requirements ;
  • Working in a cross-function team to manage the development of the digital touchpoints within the gallery, including the user interface and procuring the necessary hardware and services;
  • Working with the Exhibition and Curatorial team s to coordinate movement of artefacts between lenders and the Memorial ;
  • Managing artefact rotations and refresh of the permanent exhibition post-opening ; and
  • Overseeing the day-to-day maintenance of the permanent exhibition experience with the visitor experience team .
  • Development of the art commissions : You will project manage the art commissions at the FM, in close consultation with the Curatorial team and artists , from concept to design development and installation at the Memorial. This includes managing the tender to engage multiple artists , coordinating with NHB's Development Project Division for installation works across mult iple sites in the Founders Memorial , developing the long-term maintenance strategy for the art commissions and a calendar of refreshes post-opening.
  • Changing exhibitions: You will manage the calendar of changing exhibitions across the Memorial's non-permanent exhibition galleries and spaces. These exhibitions will include those organised by the FM (with content and budget driven by the FM) and those that are organised by partners and the community (with content and budget driven by them). This includes coordinating with appointed vendors and partners on the technical and content specifications for changing exhibitions ; project managing changing exhibitions that are organised by the FM ; assessing incoming requests or proposals for community-led exhibitions and surfacing recommendations to the team lead and management for approval ; and managing partner relations hips for partner- and community-led exhibitions at the Memorial.
  • Artefact A cquisition and Display : You will be part of the team support ing the Curatorial team in artefact acquisition, and manage artefact movements between lenders, the Conservation Centre and FM. This includes arranging specialised services (such as art handling and conservation) and studying possible display methodstogether with the exhibition designers and conservators.

What We Are Looking For

  • Background in disciplines relevant to project management, museums and exhibitions. A background in art with strong aesthetic or design sensibilities is advantageous .
  • Preferably at least 5-7 years of working experience in museum exhibition s and attractions .
  • Project Management , Project Administration & Contract Management : Excellent project management/administration, finance/budget management skills in development projects and contract management with proven track record in the museum, art exhibition, or large-scale public attractions space.
  • Exhibition Development : Adept in collaborating effectively with diverse teams including curators, designers, educators and technical staff to integrate various exhibitions seamlessly.
  • Experience and f amiliarity with public sector procurement and administration of public sector construction contracts such as Public Sector Standard Conditions of Contract ( PSSCOC ) .
  • Logistics & Operations Management : Experience in planning and coordinating logistical aspects of exhibitions, including transportation, storage, handling, and installation of artworks and exhibits is advantageous .
  • Ability to think creatively to trouble-shoot and come up with solution s.
  • A collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills , able to work across multidisciplinary and cross-agency teams .
  • As the FM is an institution being built from the ground-up, the candidate should be able to navigate changes , multiple stakeholders and a fast-moving environment where processes are still being established . Familiarity with or willingness to learn government tools and procurement guidelines will also be essential .
  • Some weekend and after-work hours engagements might be required – candidates should be prepared to exercise some flexibility in the work schedule.
