[What the role is]
The role manages and ensures the business continuity of NYP's SFA‑licensed Beverage Pilot Plant by overseeing daily operations, scheduling, facility readiness, and full compliance with SFA regulatory requirements, food safety standards, WSH policies, and operational SOPs. Acting as a key responsible personnel for SFA‑related matters, the role leads inspections, regulatory responses, and continuous compliance improvements, while driving fee‑based industry projects through project scoping, costing, execution, and delivery in collaboration with industry partners. In addition, the role mentors and supervises Final Year Project (FYP) students, translating industry and research needs into academically rigorous and operationally feasible projects, and supports the continual development and enhancement of SOPs, training materials, and pilot plant workflows.
[What you will be working on]
- Manage, operate and ensure business continuity of NYP'sSFA‑licensed Beverage Pilot Plant, including daily operations, scheduling, and facility readiness.
- Ensurefull compliance with SFA regulatory requirements, licence conditions, food safety standards, SOPs, audits, inspections, and regulatory documentation.
- Act as akey responsible personnelfor SFA‑related matters, including preparation for inspections, responses to regulatory queries, and corrective actions.
- Lead and executefee‑based industry projectsusing the Beverage Pilot Plant, including project scoping, costing, execution, reporting, and delivery.
- Engageand collaborate withindustry partnersto develop technically viable pilot‑scale solutions that meet project objectives and timelines.
- Mentor, supervise, and guideFinal Year Project (FYP) studentsconducting applied projects within the Beverage Pilot Plant as part of an academic (part‑teaching) role.
- Translate industry and research needs intoacademically rigorous and operationally feasible FYP project scopeswithin the pilot plant environment.
- Oversee safe work practices, risk assessments, and compliance with NYP WSH, laboratory, and food safety requirements.
- Support documentation, development, and continual improvement ofoperational SOPs, training materials, and pilot plant workflows.

- 3-5 years working experience in the food R&D field
- Demonstrates strong ownership, accountability, and reliability in managing regulated facilities and ensuring operational continuity and compliance.

- Possesses excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, working effectively with regulators, industry partners, colleagues, and students.
