Job Description

Monitoring Site Operations

  • Responsible for overseeing all aspects of a site, especially managing and monitoring daily operations. This includes ensuring that all tasks are completed on time, within budget and adhere to project requirements.
  • Effectively communicates with stakeholders including contractors, designers and clients, to ensure that all parties are aligned and the project is on track to achieve its goals and milestones.
  • Identify and mitigate any risks or issues that arise during the course of the project and make necessary adjustments to ensure that the project stays on track.

Safety

  • Ensure that all staff and members at the site strictly observe and follow safety protocols. Depending on the site requirements, site supervisors may communicate specific safety protocols and regulations such as the disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Ensure that all employees and contractors wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), conduct safety meetings and inspect the site regularly for any hazards.
  • Responsible to ensure that they stay up-to-date on the safety regulations and guidelines set by regulatory bodies.

Interpreting Drawings

  • Analyse and interpret blueprints, drawings and other technical documents related to the project.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the plans including dimensions, measurements and materials to ensure right specifications.
  • To identify any discrepancies or issues in the blueprints and work with the appropriate parties to resolve them before work begins.
  • Communicates technical information in the blueprints to the team and ensures that everyone understands their roles and responsibilities in the project.

Coordinating with Contractors and Vendors

  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure that their work is completed on time and meets the project requirements.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with subcontractors and vendors about project timelines and deliverables to ensure that any issues or problems are addressed quickly and efficiently.
  • Depending on the project's progress, site supervisors may report to clients, developers and investors on the performance of certain vendors or subcontractors to ensure the project stays on schedule.

Site Inspection

  • Inspects various sites to ensure that construction work adheres to the schedule.
  • Visit sites to assess the progress, check the quality of the work and identify any potential issues or safety hazards to address.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all workers on the site are following proper safety protocols and works closely with contractors, architects and other parties to provide updates on the project and address any concerns that arise during the inspection process.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in construction site supervision or similar roles.
  • Education/Certification: High school diploma or similar certification in construction management, BCA Pavement Construction, or specialized safety courses (e.g., Scaffolding/Work at Height) is highly advantageous.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and quality standards.
  • Safety Compliance: Strict enforcement of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations.
  • Leadership & Management: Proven ability to lead crews, coordinate subcontractors, and manage on-site daily operations.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for reporting to project managers and stakeholders.
