Job Description & Requirements
Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager in project planning, scheduling, and coordination.
- Supervise construction activities to ensure compliance with timeline, quality, and technical specifications.
- Monitor site progress, performance of subcontractors, and report updates to the Project Manager.
- Conduct site meetings with workers and subcontractors to communicate project requirements and progress.
- Maintain accurate records of material usage, labor costs, and other project-related expenses.
- Assist with procurement of materials and hiring/assignment of laborers.
- Support contractors and engineers in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Ensure smooth day-to-day operations of site activities.
- Motivate and manage workers to maintain high productivity and morale.
- Foster positive working relationships with site workers, contractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure all changes in project plans are communicated and executed effectively.
Safety & Compliance
- Educate workers on safety procedures and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Report and document any accidents or incidents on site ensure immediate first aid is administered.
- Ensure compliance with local/state construction regulations and industry standards.
- Proactively identify potential site problems and implement preventive measures.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant site supervision or project coordination experience
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, technical drawings, and industry standards.
- Familiar with local building codes, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
- Good organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with workers, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Possession of a valid WSQ Safety Supervisor / Workplace Safety certification will be an advantage.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
