Role Description
FAO Global is seeking a Senior Consultant to support a California–Singapore Trade Mission aligned with Singapore Week of Innovation & Technology (SWITCH). This role is ideal for a seasoned international business professional with experience supporting government delegations, trade missions, and cross-border business development. This is a high-visibility, strategic role working with California companies, Singapore ecosystem partners, and government stakeholders.
The Senior Consultant will support the planning and execution of a California business delegation to Singapore, including company preparation, stakeholder coordination, and on-the-ground execution during the mission. This position requires strong international business experience, executive presence, and program management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct company intake interviews and capability assessments for selected companies
- Develop individual company objectives and market entry goals
- Support preparation of pre-trip briefings
- Assist with Singapore ecosystem mapping and opportunity identification
- Coordinate with Singapore-based partners and stakeholders
Business Matchmaking
- Identify relevant Singapore partners and meeting targets
- Support scheduling of B2B meetings and stakeholder engagements
- Assist with agenda development and program design
- Coordinate with industry associations, government agencies, and investors
On-Site Trade Mission Execution
- Support delegation logistics and daily program execution
- Attend and facilitate meetings between California companies and Singapore partners
- Provide real-time advisory and troubleshooting
- Support networking events and stakeholder engagement
Post Event Deliverables
- Support preparation of post-mission reports
- Track follow-up opportunities and partnership development
- Assist with stakeholder communications and outcomes reporting
Qualifications
Required
- 8+ years experience in international business, consulting, or trade promotion
- Experience supporting trade missions, delegations, or international programs
- Strong stakeholder engagement and executive communication skills
- Experience working with startups, scaleups, or middle-market companies
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Experience working in Singapore or Southeast Asia
- Government or economic development experience
- Technology, innovation, or venture ecosystem familiarity
- Experience with public sector or RFP-based programs
