Job Description

We are seeking a Shipping Operations Executive to manage the day-to-day execution of tanker voyages within an international energy and commodities environment. The role will work closely with vessel owners, charterers, Masters, terminals, agents and internal stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant and commercially efficient voyage operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end operational execution of crude oil and petroleum product tanker voyages.
  • Coordinate closely with vessel Masters, shipowners, charterers, terminals, port agents and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth voyage execution.
  • Monitor vessel movements, voyage progress, loading/discharge operations and compliance with voyage instructions and charterparty requirements.
  • Coordinate port calls, berth arrangements, agency appointments, terminal requirements and other operational formalities.
  • Manage bunker requirements and coordinate procurement, delivery schedules and supply arrangements with relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor laytime and operational events affecting voyage economics, and support the preparation, review and negotiation of demurrage, freight and other voyage-related claims.
  • Maintain accurate voyage records and documentation, including vessel schedules, port calls, operational updates and supporting claims documents.
  • Update voyage and operational information in shipping systems such as Veson IMOS and prepare relevant voyage reports.
  • Identify and escalate operational, commercial and regulatory risks, ensuring compliance with applicable sanctions, trade requirements, company policies and charterparty obligations.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Shipping, Maritime Studies, Logistics, Business or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 3+ years of relevant experience in tanker operations, shipping operations, post-fixture, vessel operations or marine logistics.
  • Good understanding of crude oil and/or petroleum product tanker operations, including port and terminal procedures.
  • Familiarity with voyage instructions, bunker planning, shipping documentation and charterparty operational terms such as laycan, NOR, laytime, demurrage, off-hire and deviation.
  • Experience coordinating with vessel Masters, shipowners, charterers, terminals, agents and other maritime stakeholders.
  • Experience with Veson IMOS or other shipping/ETRM systems would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage time-sensitive operational matters.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and responding to urgent operational matters outside normal office hours when required.
