Job Summary
You will coordinate and manage ocean freight import shipments, ensuring accurate booking, documentation, and timely cargo delivery. Collaborate with carriers, vendors, and customers to optimize operational efficiency and support seamless freight forwarding processes.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and book sea freight shipments with carriers and co-loaders to ensure timely and accurate cargo movement
- Prepare and manage full sets of sea freight shipping documentation to comply with regulatory and operational requirements
- Oversee day-to-day ocean freight import operations and transactions to maintain smooth workflow and resolve issues proactively
- Liaise with vendors, customers, and transporters to coordinate timely collection and delivery of shipments and containers
- Execute ad-hoc duties as assigned to support department objectives and continuous process improvement
- Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to document, report, and communicate operational activities effectively
- Collaborate within a team environment while demonstrating the ability to work independently to meet deadlines and targets
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Diploma or O level holder with 1-3 years of experience in ocean freight shipment handling or freight forwarding
- Experience with ocean freight forwarding operations to enhance shipment coordination and problem-solving
- Familiarity with SAP systems to support operational data management and process automation (advantageous but not mandatory)
