Shipbroker Trainee Singapore – Full time

As part of our ongoing growth plan, we are looking for a Shipbroker Trainee to join our Gas desk in Singapore.

Shipbroking can be highly rewarding, but it is a demanding, results-driven profession. The global, ever-changing nature of shipping requires unconventional working hours in a dynamic working environment. Becoming successful in this field takes time and requires an exceptional work ethic, dedication, and drive. We do not require prior shipbroking experience. Instead we focus on potential and attitude. The ideal candidate will demonstrate :

• A strong interest in shipping, trading and supply chain
• A commercial mindset
• Strong communication and language skills, including both written and spoken English and Mandarin.
• The ability to easily connect with and relate to people from various cultural backgrounds.
• High level of maturity, responsibility, resilience and ability to recover after setbacks.
• Strong analytical and logical thinking, with ability to grasp complex workflows. Prefer candidates with strong research and data analysis skills.
• Past working experience in shipbroking is not required but we prefer candidates with prior experience of client-facing exposure in shipping or supply chain industry.
• Educational background would require a master degree in maritime studies, supply chain management, logistics, business or related discipline with strong academic performance.
• The ambition to take initiative and pursue ideas
• Willing to travel
