Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Solutions Architect to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale platform solutions. This position will play a key role in assessing existing enterprise applications and defining how the ServiceNow platform can integrate with or modernise current systems and processes.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical architecture capability with business understanding, enabling them to translate organisational requirements into scalable ServiceNow solutions. Experience across key modules such as IT Service Management (ITSM), Customer Service Management (CSM), and Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) is essential. Exposure to Public Sector Digital Services environments will be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Strategy
- Define solution architecture and technical direction for ServiceNow platform implementations
- Develop architecture roadmaps, platform standards, and implementation blueprints
- Translate business requirements and operational processes into technical solution designs
- Provide architectural leadership across platform development and integration initiatives
Delivery & Implementation
- Oversee the full lifecycle delivery of ServiceNow solutions including configuration, customisation, integration, and testing
- Guide implementation teams on architecture standards, development practices, and platform governance
- Support agile delivery models including sprint-based implementation approaches
- Design integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise systems using common integration technologies
Platform Integration & Automation
- Architect integrations with external enterprise systems and cloud platforms
- Implement workflow orchestration and automation capabilities across business applications
- Ensure reliable data exchange and automation between ServiceNow and surrounding technology environments
Governance & Platform Management
- Establish governance frameworks and standards for ServiceNow platform usage
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and industry requirements
- Monitor platform health, performance, and operational efficiency
- Identify opportunities to optimise platform capability and service delivery
Leadership & Collaboration
- Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to define platform requirements and solution scope
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to architects, developers, and platform administrators
- Support knowledge transfer through workshops, documentation, and technical enablement sessions
- Contribute to user experience strategies through persona development and service design considerations
Cloud Integration
- Architect solutions integrating the ServiceNow platform with Microsoft Azure technologies
Experience & Background
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
- Extensive experience working with the ServiceNow platform in technical and architecture roles
- Several years of experience performing ServiceNow solution architecture responsibilities in enterprise environments
- Proven experience delivering large-scale ServiceNow implementations with multiple integrations
- Demonstrated experience supporting complex migrations between hosting environments (e.g. cloud and on-premise)
- Familiarity with Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and agile delivery approaches
- Track record of delivering multiple end-to-end ServiceNow implementations
- Senior candidates should demonstrate experience leading or mentoring architecture teams
Technical Expertise
Strong experience across the following areas:
- ServiceNow platform architecture and solution design
- Core modules including ITSM, CSM, ITOM, CMDB, GRC and IRM
- ServiceNow integrations with Microsoft Azure environments
- Platform integrations using REST, SOAP, JSON and XML
- ServiceNow scripting and platform development technologies
- ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, orchestration and automation capabilities
- Enterprise platform migrations and hybrid environment architectures
- Integration orchestration using Automation Engine, Integration Hub or RPA technologies
- Implementation of automation workflows and analytics capabilities within the ServiceNow platform
