The Role
Seeking a skilled and responsible Service Technician to support the inspection, maintenance, and servicing of surgical instruments and medical equipment used in healthcare environments. This role plays an important part in ensuring that instruments remain in optimal working condition, meeting quality and safety standards required for clinical use.
Key Responsibilities
Instrument Inspection & Servicing
- Inspect surgical instruments and medical tools to ensure they meet functional and quality standards.
- Perform servicing, sharpening, alignment adjustments, and minor repairs on instruments when required.
- Conduct functional checks to verify that instruments operate safely and effectively before returning them to clients.
Preventive Maintenance
- Carry out preventive maintenance and regular servicing of instruments to maintain performance and longevity.
- Identify potential issues early and recommend appropriate repair or replacement solutions.
- Ensure instruments comply with required safety and hygiene standards.
Technical Support
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for clients regarding instrument performance or servicing needs.
- Respond to service requests and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
- Communicate clearly with internal teams and clients regarding servicing timelines and recommendations.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate service records, maintenance reports, and equipment history logs.
- Ensure all service activities comply with regulatory and quality standards.
- Prepare technical documentation and service reports after each maintenance or repair visit.
Inventory & Parts Management
- Monitor and manage spare parts inventory required for service and repair activities.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely availability of replacement components.
- Maintain proper handling and storage of technical tools and equipment.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Prior experience in servicing medical equipment, surgical instruments, laboratory equipment, or technical tools is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with hands-on technical ability.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and service documentation.
- Good communication skills and ability to interact professionally with clients.
- Responsible, organised, and able to work independently in a field service environment.
Additional Information
- Salary Range: SGD 3,000 - SGD 5,000 (commensurate with experience)
