What The Role Is

The SPF plays a critical role in keeping Singapore safe and secure with our mission to prevent, deter and detect crime.

The Special Operations Command (SOC) is the lead tactical arm of SPF to provide highest level of tactical option to combat crime, terrorism and public disorder. We seek to constantly explore, innovate and adapt cutting-edge technology to support our officers to enhance policing efforts for crime fighting.

As a Service & Support Officer in SOC, you will manage assets and infrastructures for its worthiness by ensuring good maintenance services, manage inventory distribution, set up logistical support during police deployments, and supervise service delivery standard from contractors. With good forwarding planning, you will play a significant role for SOC to execute its mission and security operations effectively.

You will be placed under the Management Executive Scheme

What You Will Be Working On

As part of the logistics fraternity, you will get to co-ordinate projects, liaise with various logistics representatives from different units to provide devised solutions, make recommendations by studying the operational needs, and analyse problems and constraints before presenting the most cost effective and practical proposal for problem-solving. You will learn to identify logistic requirements and make projections of deliveries to reap maximum economy of scale in procurement, planning and executing the logistics support plan during major operations, deployment and exercises.

You will be required to supervise and monitor the performance of contractors on their contracted services through inspections, and perform regular review of infrastructures to safeguards any undetected faults. You will provide feedback and recommendations and follow-ups for any due delivery of goods and services. You will also be part of the safety committee to assess and address any measures to improve the safety of the premises. You will ensure the compliance of procedures, propose improvement to enhance efficiency and productivity, and implement preventive plans to minimise any inconvenience or loss of time.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a pro-active and dynamic individual to be part of our Logistics Support Team. You should possess good interpersonal skills and quick-thinking mind in handling contingencies involving infrastructure maintenance and urgent repairs. You will be trained in infrastructure maintenance, understanding building regulations, and work with contractors, vendors and suppliers to ensure efficient delivery of services.

Requirements

  • Field of studies in preferably Building Services Maintenance or construction or Logistics Management, or any other discipline.
  • Possess strong analytical, effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Physically fit and prepared to work hands-on to manage logistics and inventories.
  • Meticulous and independent worker
  • Possess high drive and pleasant personality with strong teamwork belief.
  • Able to adapt in high intense operations environment.
  • Good time management and be able to meet tight deadlines; and
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Work and PowerPoint). Knowledge of SAP would be an added advantage.
