Job Description

The Service Engineer (Electrical) role is a hands-on position that blends mobile phone repair with basic store maintenance.

Core Repair Work

Phone & Tablet Fixes: Handling everyday repairs like replacing cracked screens, weak batteries, and broken charging ports.

Advanced Troubleshooting: Using multimeters and diagnostic software to find electrical faults on phone motherboards.

Board-Level Work: Performing delicate microsoldering to fix small internal components that have been damaged by water or drops.

Data Recovery: Helping customers retrieve lost photos and files from damaged devices.

Local Shop Operations

Store Maintenance: Ensuring the shop's lighting, power sockets, and security cameras are always operational.

Emergency Standby: Being available to fix a power trip or a malfunctioning security alarm so the shop can stay open.

Inventory Control: Tracking the stock of spare parts (like specific iPhone or Samsung screens) and ordering new tools when needed.

Device Grading: Testing and certifying second-hand phones to ensure they are safe and functional for resale.

Customer & Safety Tasks

Clear Communication: Explaining technical repairs to customers in simple terms and providing cost estimates.

Safety Compliance: Ensuring all charging cables and equipment in the shop meet Singapore's Energy Market Authority (EMA) safety standards to prevent fires.

Training Staff: Showing retail assistants how to perform basic diagnostic tests on trade-in phones.
