Job Summary
We are looking for a Junior Service Engineer to support installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of medical and laboratory equipment from various brands. This entry- to mid-level role suits candidates with some service experience or strong technical aptitude seeking growth in biomedical equipment servicing.
Responsibilities
- Assist in installing, commissioning, and testing medical and laboratory equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, centrifuges, and cryogenic units to ensure operational readiness
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks following OEM procedures to maintain equipment reliability and compliance
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration faults to restore equipment functionality efficiently
- Respond to customer service calls and deliver onsite technical support under guidance from Senior Engineers to resolve issues promptly
- Prepare clear and accurate service reports, checklists, and documentation to track maintenance and repair activities
- Manage tools, spare parts inventory, and calibration records to support effective service operations
- Coordinate service schedules and liaise with hospital, laboratory, and clinic staff to facilitate smooth service delivery
- Execute ad-hoc administrative duties related to job scheduling and service operations to support team efficiency
Required competencies and certifications
- NITEC / Higher NITEC / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Biomedical Engineering
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits, mechanical systems, or refrigeration principles to perform servicing tasks (training provided)
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a service team
- Comfortable working in hospital, laboratory, or cleanroom environments
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- 1-3 years of working experience in equipment servicing
- Demonstrated learning agility and willingness to undergo OEM training to enhance technical expertise
- Customer service mindset to deliver responsive and professional support
