Job Description:

We are a start-up semiconductor equipment and support solutions company with headquarters in Singapore, looking for a motivated and experienced Technical Service Engineer for our Singapore operations. This person will have the opportunity to troubleshoot, maintain, and support the installation of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and related systems. In this role, you will partner with senior engineers and the sales team from site measurement and machine inspection through to pilot run and after-sales technical support. You will also be frequently interfacing with clients and service centers to ensure rapid on-site assistance and compliance with safety standards.

Job functions:

The ideal candidate shall be able to perform the following:

  • Perform on-site troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of semiconductor equipment, from tool inspection to mass production support.

  • Support equipment installation, relocation, and preventive maintenance services, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.

  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards, company protocols, and regulatory requirements (including safe handling of regulated chemicals where applicable).

  • Partner with the logistics and parts sales teams to manage spare parts inventory and ensure fast shipping for urgent repairs.

  • Provide emergency on-call technical support, with ability to arrive at client sites within hours as per company service commitments.

  • Document technical findings, maintenance logs, and service reports, performing version control and root cause analysis.

  • Communicate effectively with clients to explain technical issues, solutions, and prevent recurrence.

  • Assist in pilot runs and trial production, collecting and analyzing data to improve equipment reliability.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, engineering, logistics) to deliver one-stop solutions for business challenges.

  • Create and present technical reports and improvement plans to internal stakeholders and external clients.

Job Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree minimum in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, IT Engineering, or a related field of study.

  • 1-8 years of direct experience in technical troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, or field service engineering (experience in semiconductor industry is a plus).

  • Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, or IT system issues.

  • Ability to navigate a dynamic and at times ambiguous environment requiring frequent multitasking, prioritization, and a proactive mentality.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to interact professionally with diverse clients, team members, and suppliers.

  • Self-starting individual with ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal guidance.

  • Knowledge of safety standards and compliance requirements in industrial or semiconductor environments is highly desirable.

  • Proven ability to respond to emergency calls and work under time-sensitive conditions.
