Reporting to Service Manager, the primary scope of the Service Engineer is to provide maintenance and repair assistance of DMG MORI CNC machine tools equipment and controls on location or by telephone to customers.
Responsibilities include:
- On-site commissioning and installing machines and components.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot the diverse technical issues.
- Provide solutions to fix any problems that arise and carry out on-site repairs.
- Carry out diverse maintenance work.
- Develop, prepare, generate and analyze ongoing and ad-hoc reports pertaining to Service.
- Establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Collaborating with the spare parts coordinator by determining parts required by the customer and ensuring timely delivery of spare parts.
- Handle requests for service proposals and quotes.
- Prepare service reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing repair information.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
- Train and develop others as and when the need arises.
- Other duties as assigned by the Company.
Education and Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in technical related of study such as Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic or Mechatronics Engineering.
- 3-5 years of experience working in field service including electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of CNC machine tools.
- Experience working with DMG MORI machines and/or CNC control systems such as Siemens, Heidenhain, Fanuc, or Mitsubishi controls would be an advantage.
- Able to read and interpret electrical mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and sequence (PLC) ladder diagrams.
- Service-oriented approach, friendly and enjoy direct customer contact.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
