About the role
The Service Ambassador for In Room Dining is responsible for delivering prompt, courteous, and accurate food and beverage service to guests in their rooms and suites. The role covers order-taking, tray/trolley set-up, delivery, and clearance, ensuring every guest interaction reflects the hotel's service standards while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the In Room Dining outlet.
Key responsibilities
Answer In Room Dining calls promptly and professionally, accurately taking food and beverage orders and advising guests on menu items, promotions, and dietary options.
Input orders correctly into the POS system, relay special requests clearly to the kitchen, and confirm expected delivery times with guests.
Set up trays and trolleys according to hotel presentation standards, checking orders for accuracy and completeness before delivery.
Deliver orders to guest rooms in a timely, courteous manner, in line with service time standards, and set up in-room dining as requested.
Explain menu items, condiments, and billing to guests at the point of delivery, and process payment or charge to room account accurately.
Retrieve used trays and trolleys from corridors and guest rooms promptly to maintain floor cleanliness and hygiene standards.
Handle guest requests, preferences, and complaints professionally, escalating to the Supervisor or Manager where necessary.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the In Room Dining pantry, service areas, and equipment, adhering to hygiene and food safety standards.
Monitor stock levels of amenities, condiments, and service supplies, and inform the Supervisor of shortages or replenishment needs.
Work closely with Kitchen, Housekeeping, and Front Office to ensure a seamless guest experience, particularly for VIPs, special occasions, and dietary requirements.
About you
Minimum GCE N / O Level or equivalent a certificate/diploma in Hospitality or F&B Service is an advantage.
Prior experience in F&B service, room service, or a similar guest-facing hospitality role is preferred fresh graduates with a strong service attitude are welcome to apply.
Familiarity with POS systems and basic cash/billing handling.
Good communication skills in English additional languages are a plus for guest interaction.
Well-groomed, courteous, and guest-service oriented, with the ability to remain composed during peak periods.
Physically able to carry trays/push trolleys and stand or walk for extended periods.
Willing to work on a rotating shift basis, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
