Job Description
Role Summary
Reporting to the Group Head of Cash Product Management for Account Services and Liquidity Management, this senior leadership role is responsible for defining and executing the bank's digital currency product strategy.
As the Team Lead, you will oversee a team of product manager(s) driving the development, commercialization, and lifecycle management of digital currency solutions, including stablecoins, digital wallets, tokenized deposits, and blockchain‑based settlement.
The role requires deep domain expertise, strong stakeholder influence across senior leadership and regulators, and the ability to translate emerging technologies into scalable, compliant, and revenue‑generating transaction banking offerings. The leader must demonstrate strategic clarity, product excellence, sound judgment, and the ability to build high‑performing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Strategy & Innovation
- Lead cross‑functional collaboration with business units across Group Wholesale Banking to surface new opportunities based on client needs, competitive insights, data intelligence, and market developments.
- Shape and contribute to the bank's digital currency strategy—including tokenized cash, stablecoin‑based settlement, digital wallets, and blockchain‑enabled payments.
- Monitor global trends in digital assets, blockchain, DLT, and regulatory frameworks; assess impact and implications for product strategy.
- Identify commercial use cases, partnership opportunities, and ecosystem integrations that strengthen GTB's digital asset capabilities.
- Product Development & Enhancement
- Lead end‑to‑end product development, from strategic concept to business case, requirements definition, solution design, and delivery.
- Oversee the development of Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and ensure alignment with Technology on Functional Specifications Documents (FSDs).
- Provide leadership across all project governance components—including integrated plans, risk/issue management, change controls, headcount planning, and financial tracking.
- Partner with Technology to design secure, compliant, and resilient digital currency architecture, including tokenization layers, blockchain nodes, smart contracts, and wallet integrations.
- Ensure all solutions comply with regulatory, risk, cybersecurity, and operational standards.
- Portfolio & Lifecycle Management
- Provide leadership across the full product lifecycle—strategy, build, commercialization, enhancement, and retirement.
- Drive close collaboration with Sales, Segment Teams, Operations, and other stakeholders to grow product usage, revenue, and client adoption.
- Monitor product performance, operational stability, profitability, and client feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Oversee pricing strategy, fee reviews, product governance, and documentation to maintain competitiveness and control.
- Commercialization & Client Advocacy
- Support client engagements, large deal pursuits, and RFPs alongside Sales and Relationship Teams.
- Work with Marketing and Communications to develop positioning, product collateral, and thought leadership.
- Lead product rollout across branches, subsidiaries, and international markets with structured governance and readiness plans.
- Drive adoption through internal training, client education, and market outreach initiatives.
- Stakeholder Influence & Governance
- Engage with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Operations, Information Security, and regulators to ensure strong governance and adherence to applicable frameworks.
- Oversee submissions, approvals, and prioritization of product initiatives; maintain a transparent pipeline of projects.
- Collaborate with internal partners to resolve product issues, strengthen operational resilience, and uphold control standards.
Act as a senior representative in cross‑functional forums, regulatory engagements, and strategic discussions relating to digital currencies and cash management.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or related field (MBA a plus).
- 15–20 years of experience in transaction banking, cash management, treasury products, or digital banking. Strong understanding of blockchain, stablecoin, digital assets, tokenised deposit.
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to balance innovation, risk, and commercial outcomes.
- Excellent communication and executive presence; effective in regulator stakeholders engagement.
- Familiarity with local and regional regulatory frameworks.
