Brief Summary:
This dynamic role requires a dedicated individual to manage commercial operations of a maritime fleet, ensuring seamless communication and coordination with various stakeholders. Ideal candidates will be proactive problem-solvers with a strong foundation in shipping operations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee execution of Charter Party agreements.
- Facilitate effective communication and coordination with stakeholders, including masters, agents, bunker suppliers, charterers, technical managers, and class societies.
- Optimise voyage operations and performance, including post-fixture tasks like hire and freight invoices, laytime calculations, and final settlement.
- Handle claims and disputes involving various parties.
- Manage voyage profit and loss (P&L) alongside negotiating port and dock arrangements and appointing agents.
- Plan for bunker needs while assessing operational expenditure and arranging payments.
- Maintain accurate records of vessel details, Time Charter contracts, and voyage-related revenue and expenses within operational systems.
- Collaborate directly with ship managers, P&I clubs, and class societies to uphold high standards of health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) for both vessels and crew.
- Assist with additional tasks as required.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in shipping, preferably in dry bulk operations.
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other relevant software.
- Familiarity with IMOS is preferred.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
- Proactive problem-solving approach and the ability to identify potential issues with proposed solutions.
