Senior Urban Designer

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly creative and design-driven Senior Urban Designer to shape compelling, future-focused urban environments. This role is for someone who can think conceptually, translate ideas into strong spatial narratives, and craft memorable places through design excellence, storytelling, and innovation. You will play a key role in defining the vision of projects-from early concepts to detailed frameworks-while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver meaningful and contextually responsive urban solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Leadership: Lead the development of bold and innovative urban design concepts, masterplans, and spatial strategies across all project stages

• Design Narrative & Storytelling: Craft strong, coherent design narratives that articulate vision, identity, and placemaking strategies

• Master planning & Spatial Design: Develop high-quality masterplans integrating land use, public realm, mobility, and landscape to create cohesive urban environments

• 3D Visualisation & Representation: Create and oversee high-quality 3D models, visualisations, and graphics that clearly communicate design intent and enhance project storytelling

• AI-Driven Design & Ideation: Leverage AI tools and digital workflows for rapid ideation, scenario testing, and efficient design exploration

• Frameworks & Guidelines: Lead the development of urban design and architectural guidelines, ensuring design integrity and consistency across masterplan components

• Research-Led Design: Translate site analysis, cultural context, and market insights into informed and distinctive design responses

• Report Writing & Leadership: Lead the preparation of high-quality reports, ensuring strong narrative flow, clarity of ideas, and alignment with design intent. Take ownership of structuring, reviewing, and finalizing key deliverables

• Collaboration: Work closely with architects, landscape designers, planners, and engineers to deliver integrated and high-performing urban solutions

• Project Contribution: Take ownership of design packages, ensuring quality, clarity, and alignment with the overall project vision

• Innovation in Design: Continuously explore new tools, technologies, and methodologies to push design boundaries and improve delivery

• Thought Leadership: Contribute to advancing design culture within the studio, championing excellence, and developing specialist themes such as placemaking, wellness, and sustainable urbanism

Requirements

• Degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field

• 8-10 years of experience in urban design with a strong focus on concept and master planning

• A compelling portfolio demonstrating design thinking, creativity, and high-quality graphic and 3D visual communication

• Strong proficiency in design and visualisation tools (Rhino, Adobe Suite, 3D modelling, etc.)

• Demonstrated experience in report writing, structuring, and leading complex deliverables

• Ability to integrate AI tools into design workflows is highly desirable

• Excellent communication skills-both visual and written-with the ability to lead presentations and client discussions

• Experience working on complex, multidisciplinary projects
