Job Description

Role: Senior Unix System Administrator

Background: APAC UNIX SA role is to ensure day to day production support of about Unix Servers enterprise wide, includes physical and virtual machines covering all Lines of business enterprise wide. The job requires troubleshooting and configuration of the technical environment, monitor and manage server performance and health. Working in shifts to cover production support, ensure infrastructure stability and escalations from core infrastructure team. Responding to critical incident escalations and outages. This role exposes candidate to hardcore technical and troubleshooting skills, working with vendors such as RedHat, HP, etc. Working in weekends to support changes from other infrastructure teams (e.g. Network, Storage, etc.)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Incident Management support
  • Assist with troubleshooting & configuration of the technical environment. Escalating and liaising with additional internal/external groups when required, resulting in satisfactory resolution
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity. Respond promptly to notification of potential service issues; Manage and monitors server performance, health and server configuration standards
  • Investigating & troubleshooting root causes via problem management
  • Plan and Provide Support for the Changes related to Unix Infrastructure
  • Plan and Provide Support for Site-wide BCP exercises and Application specific BCP tests independently
  • Provide weekend support for change implementation and global incident support

Key Requirements

  • Enterprise Server Support experience with RedHat Linux (RHEL 7/8/9)
  • Cluster management skills (PCS, VCS, HACMP)
  • Knowledge of SAN, NAS, Network, HBA, FCOE
  • Knowledge of DC wide changes in Infra Space
  • Experience supporting on various hardware (e.g. Dell, HP and IBM)
  • Experience supporting servers on Virtual machines, and knowledge on vSAN, and other VMware products and platforms
  • Windows server administration and troubleshooting skills will be an added advantage
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to write and speak clearly and concisely about technical topics
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
