Senior Unix Support Engineer
Objective for this role :-
1. This role will provide technical support services on AIX platform EOS upgrade and automate and optimize the repeated work.
2. The role is for an experienced and proven senior UNIX support engineer to implement and
support UNIX and its related system services/software in accordance to the business requirement and in compliance with engineering standards and processes.
1. Collaborate and work with application team and plan for EOS upgrade accordingly.
2. Establish configuration standard and design guideline for UINX and system software, covering availability, performance, resilience, monitoring, backup and recovery functional areas.
3. Provide technical assistance to development team and operation teams.
4. Good in writing scripts using perl,ksh and phyton.
5. Understanding of various development, testing and deployment tools - GIT/GITHUB, MAVEN, JENKINS, DOCKER, KUBERNETES, ANSIBLE, PUPPET, CHEF, NAGIOS
6. Troubleshoot and drive system recovery. Escalate problems with actual or potential major impact to problem management and IMS management. Perform root cause analysis and ensure planned actions are carried out to prevent recurrence. Must be proactive and possess a sense of urgency during service recovery
7. Ensure the supportability of the OS and system software. Plan and lead upgrade projects.
8. Review change requests. Supervise execution for major change
9. Conduct performance analysis and tuning
10. Automate system operation
11. Track and drive OS upgrsde for all OS software. Track, plan and drive software upgrades to ensure continuous supportability.
12. Manage backup and recovery
Role & Responsibilities

Requirements :-
1. Minimum 5 years system support experience on AIX
2. Regional experience is preferred.
3. Possess good technical knowledge of AIX operating system and system services (volume manager, file system, NTP, DNS, clustering, SSH, TSM, ITM etc).
4. Experience in troubleshoot and performance tuning of UNIX
5. Experience in implementing and operating UNIX server clustering
6. Information security knowledge.
7. Data communication and network knowledge.
8. Experience in middleware and application execution in the UNIX environment is an added advantage
2. Transport is claimable - before 7am (for morning shift 6am to 3pm) , after 11pm (afternoon shift 2pm to 11pm)
Shift Timing
a. Morning shift 6am to 3pm
b. General shift 9am to 6pm.
c. Afternoon shift 2pm to 11pm
d. Night shift 10pm to 7am.
Need to support including night shift, weekends and public holidays
