Senior UI Developer (6 months contract)

We are seeking a Senior Front End Developer to join our digital banking team. You will be responsible for building high-performance, secure, and responsive user interfaces for our online banking platforms, customer portals, and internal tools. You will work closely with backend engineers, UX designers, and product owners to deliver seamless digital experiences to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain responsive, high-performance front end applications using React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.

• Implement modern rendering strategies including SSR (Server-Side Rendering), CSR (Client-Side Rendering), and ISR (Incremental Static Regeneration) to optimise performance and SEO.

• Monitor and improve front end performance using Web Vitals and Lighthouse, ensuring core web vitals meet banking-grade standards.

• Collaborate with backend teams working with Node.js, Rust, Python, and AWS Serverless to integrate RESTful APIs and real-time data.

• Work with databases such as MongoDB and MySQL to understand data flow and optimise front end data fetching.

• Contribute to full-stack features when needed, leveraging experience with Leptos, Axum, Tokio, Serde, or Tauri.

• Ensure front end code is secure, accessible, and compliant with banking security standards (e.g., OWASP, MAS TRM guidelines).

• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and agile ceremonies.

• Mentor junior developers and contribute to front end architecture decisions.

Key Requirements

Front End & Performance

• Strong experience with React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.

• Deep understanding of SSR, CSR, and ISR (experience with Next.js or similar frameworks is highly desirable).

• Proven ability to optimise front end performance using Web Vitals and Lighthouse.

• Experience with state management (e.g., Redux, Zustand, Context API).

Full Stack & Backend Awareness

• Working knowledge of Node.js and experience integrating with backend services.

• Familiarity with Rust, Python, or AWS Serverless is a strong plus.

• Experience with MongoDB and MySQL (understanding data modelling and query optimisation for front end use).

• Exposure to Leptos, Axum, Tokio, Serde, or Tauri is advantageous.
