Job Summary:
Drive regional growth and profitability in non-ferrous metals trading across Asia and Europe.
Responsibilities:
- Lead physical trading activities for refined copper and zinc ingots across Asia and Europe.
- Develop and execute trading strategies to achieve volume, revenue, and profitability targets.
- Originate and close physical purchase and sales transactions with customers and suppliers.
- Monitor market trends, supply-demand dynamics, freight movements, and pricing developments.
- Manage trading positions and exposures within approved risk limits.
- Collaborate with finance, logistics, operations, and risk teams to ensure efficient transaction execution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and strategic partners.
- Expand customer and supplier networks and identify new trading opportunities.
- Track competitor activities and emerging opportunities within the non-ferrous metals market.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the trading team to achieve commercial objectives.
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative trading culture and support operational excellence.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in commodities trading, including physical trading exposure in non-ferrous metals.
- Experience in refined copper and zinc ingot trading is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of Asian and European metals markets, supply chains, and pricing mechanisms.
- Established network and commercial relationships within the non-ferrous metals industry is an added advantage.
- Proven track record in business development, customer acquisition, and relationship management.
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing trading teams.
- Solid knowledge of derivatives, hedging strategies, and risk management practices.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing trading profitability and performance.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international trading environment.
- Proficiency in Chinese language is an added advantage for liaising with Chinese-speaking clients and stakeholders.
