Senior Trade Finance Operations Officer

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Trade Finance Operations Officer to join our Operations team. The role involves end-to-end processing of Import & Export Bills and Trade Finance transactions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. You will be a key liaison with internal stakeholders and international counterparts, ensuring smooth and efficient trade operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Process all Trade Finance transactions (L/C, L/G, collections, invoice financing, bill discounting, forfeiting) accurately according to operational procedures, including system entries and accounting postings
• Prepare and process remittance transactions (MEPS008, MEPS009, etc.) and treasury settlements
• Construct, send, and monitor SWIFT messages for relevant Trade Finance products
• Maintain proper records of all trade transactions and ensure timely filing of supporting documents
• Respond professionally to customer inquiries regarding Trade Finance products and services
• Follow up on pending or outstanding transactions promptly and escalate exceptions to management
• Assist in updating and maintaining the Import & Export Bills Operations Manual
• Prepare daily, monthly, MAS, and ad-hoc reports for Trade Finance transactions
• Handle customer internet banking, loan administration (corporate and personal loans), and safekeeping of original documents and collaterals
• Liaise effectively with Head Office and regional colleagues on operational matters

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Trade Finance operations, including handling L/C, L/G, collections, invoice financing, bill discounting, and forfeiting
• Familiarity with global and local clearing systems, such as SWIFT and MEPS+
• Meticulous, responsible, and highly organized
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
• Proficiency in Mandarin (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) for liaising with Head Office
