Job Description

ALATAS is an international crane & deck machinery repair specialist and offers crane and deck machinery related repair services and parts supply to the Merchant Marine- and Offshore industry.

Alatas operates out of 14 offices worldwide, we offer field service, provide technical solutions for emergency repairs, large scale overhauls, load testing, inspections, component repairs, spare parts supply as well as supply of new cranes and upgrades to existing ones.

Our multi-disciplined Service Engineers are professionals in their field and are available attend to crane and deck machinery problems throughout the world.

To support our Singapore Deck Machinery Dept., we are employing experienced Senior Technical Support Specialist - Marine Cranes as follows:

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced technical support and guidance to the Service Manager and field engineers for marine crane maintenance, repair, and trouble shooting.
  • Manage crane spare parts identification, sourcing, and inventory support, ensuring accurate documentation and availability.
  • Assist in developing technical solutions, manuals, and troubleshooting guides for deck crane systems.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and offer remote or on-site technical assistance for complex deck crane issues.
  • Collaborate with global technical teams to share knowledge, best practices, and innovations in deck crane technology.
  • Support training and technical development of junior engineers and technicians.
  • Liaise with clients and suppliers on technical specifications, part requirements, and service recommendations.
  • Ensure all technical activities comply with company safety standards and industry regulations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Service Engineer specializing in deck cranes.
  • Deep technical knowledge of marine crane mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems.
  • Proven expertise in crane spare parts, including part numbers, interchangeability, and procurement processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken) ability to explain technical details clearly.
  • Experience working in a global or multi-cultural service environment is preferred.
  • Willing to travel occasionally for on-site support or training sessions.
  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with crane diagnostic software and digital maintenance tools.
  • Certification in crane safety, operation, or technical training.
  • Knowledge of international standards related to deck cranes and maritime equipment.
